Title: AI Test Engineer Astellas’ Global Capability Centers – Overview Astellas’ Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are in India, Poland and Mexico.

Purpose And Scope This Gen AI Release Engineer position is dedicated to a priority program within Astellas, called the Gen AI POD. The Gen AI POD is responsible for evaluating, implementing, maintaining, and owning enterprise level Gen AI tools, both internal built products and licensed vendor products.

As a Gen AI Release Engineer, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution is about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. Digital Capability, on the other hand, focuses on the growth and development of individuals within a specific expertise area. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

As a Gen AI Release Engineer, you ensure initiatives for Agentic AI and Gen AI products are fit for purpose and meet user/business requirements. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and understanding of current Agentic AI trends, capabilities, and limitations. You will ensure smooth and reliable deployment of agentic AI solutions and related configurations. You will use your knowledge, expertise, and quick learning to stay ahead and ensure value is delivered with high quality. This position bridges development, QA, and operations, focusing on automation, governance, and compliance for AI-driven workflows. The evolving use and future opportunities bring a lot of variety to your day-to-day job.

This position is based in Bengaluru and will require some on-site work _._ Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Release Management for Gen AI Solutions: Coordinate and execute releases for AI agents, low-code workflows, and DigitalX platforms.
• Agent Configuration & Governance: Manage versioning and configuration of AI agents, ensuring alignment with standards and compliance frameworks.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Collaborate with POD teams to validate AI agent behavior, performance, and integration before release.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain detailed release notes, rollback strategies, and contribute to playbooks for Gen AI adoption.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Gen AI Analysts, AI Solutions Engineers, and DigitalX stakeholders to support innovation and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in release engineering in AI/ML environments.
• 3+ years’ experience writing and executing test scripts, preferably testing AI products.
• Experience with testing tools like ALM, Tosca, Selenium, etc.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and low-code platforms.
