Job Title: Salesforce QA Automation Staff Engineer

Job Overview:

Zendesk is looking for a seasoned and strategic Salesforce QA Automation Staff Engineer to lead automated and manual testing initiatives within our dynamic Salesforce ecosystem. You will be responsible for overseeing test strategy, automation frameworks, and quality engineering across mission-critical Salesforce applications including CPQ, Lightning UI, and API integrations. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, hybrid environment that emphasizes innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-centric quality assurance.


What You’ll Bring and Do:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead a team of technical QA professionals focused on Salesforce automation and quality engineering.
  • Develop and execute test strategies to drive efficiency, scalability, and quality across the Salesforce landscape.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Salesforce QA automation, advising both engineering and product teams on best practices.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Selenium or similar tools.
  • Leverage Python, Java, or comparable programming languages to develop reusable and scalable test scripts.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing across Salesforce modules including CPQ, Lightning UI, and APIs using tools like RestAssured.
  • Ensure proper integration and compatibility of automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into effective QA strategies.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to QA engineers to ensure team growth and consistency in execution.
  • Promote a culture of quality and ownership throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Process & Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives across QA practices.
  • Ensure effective test case documentation, execution tracking, and reporting using test management tools.
  • Analyze automation results and metrics to proactively address potential quality risks or bottlenecks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce testing, including automation and manual methodologies.
  • Strong experience in Salesforce automation using Selenium, with solid programming expertise in Python, Java, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce modules, especially CPQ, Lightning UI, and API Testing.
  • Skilled in using test case management tools and defect tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile development, DevOps pipelines, and hybrid work environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in large-scale Salesforce environments with multiple integrations.
  • Exposure to customer support platforms such as Zendesk and understanding of customer lifecycle workflows.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving tech environment and manage shifting priorities.

Work Location & Hybrid Model:

  • Candidates must reside in Karnataka or Maharashtra.
  • This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular in-office presence each week as determined by the hiring manager.
