Job Overview

Hitya Global is hiring a highly skilled and proactive QA Test Automation Engineer (Playwright) with strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js expertise. The ideal candidate is a test automation expert with experience across the full software lifecycle, hands-on in both front-end and API testing, and passionate about quality engineering in a SaaS/PaaS environment.

You will own automation strategies, work collaboratively across global teams, and help build resilient, scalable test frameworks while also contributing to manual and exploratory testing efforts when needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of QA processes and test automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Developers, and Scrum Masters.
  • Estimate, prioritize, and plan automation tasks for UIs and APIs.
  • Develop robust, scalable test automation suites using Playwright, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Create reusable test harnesses, data-driven test scripts, and shared libraries.
  • Conduct both black-box and white-box testing across web apps, APIs, and back-end services.
  • Participate in requirement analysis, test case reviews, and defect triage.
  • Actively contribute to manual, exploratory, and regression testing phases.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and help enforce testing best practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD integration and ensure automated tests run in pipelines.
  • Assist in performance optimization and root cause analysis of defects.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in test automation and quality engineering.
  • Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, or similar frameworks like Cypress or WebDriverIO.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, service integrations, and backend testing.
  • Experience with version control (GitHub) and CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile development environments and sprint processes.
  • Excellent communication, debugging, and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of authentication protocols, NoSQL/RDBMS, and API documentation tools.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Vue.js and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of Apache Solr or search engines.
  • Understanding of security testing, identity protocols, and data modeling.
