Job Overview:
Genworth is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate QA/Testing Analyst to join our IT team supporting Long Term Care (LTC) Claims Administration systems. In this role, you will contribute to end-to-end quality assurance activities including test planning, test execution, and defect management. As part of a cross-functional Agile team, you will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure our systems deliver reliable and high-quality solutions aligned with our mission of empowering families through compassionate, customer-centered service.
This position is ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in software testing, scripting, and system analysis, especially within the insurance or financial services industry.
What You Will Be Doing:
✅ Quality Assurance Activities

Participate in the full QA lifecycle, including analysis, planning, execution, and reporting.

Design, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on technical and business requirements.

Conduct various types of testing including unit testing, functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
✅ Defect Management

Identify, log, and track software defects through resolution and verify fixes during retesting.

Analyze production defects, assist in root cause analysis (RCA), and update testing strategy to prevent recurrence.

Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to prioritize and resolve issues efficiently.
✅ Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with business analysts, developers, and QA teammates in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.

Maintain accurate documentation including test results, defect logs, test plans, and test summary reports.

Communicate testing status and issues clearly to internal teams and business partners.
✅ Process Improvement & Tools

Support QA process enhancement through continuous learning and sharing of industry best practices.

Contribute to test automation initiatives and the advancement of DevOps testing strategies.

Stay current with testing tools, scripting languages, and methodologies to improve QA effectiveness.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.

Experience in software quality assurance, preferably within insurance or finance domains.

Exposure to Java, Mainframe, and cross-technology testing environments is preferred.
Technical Skills

Proficient in unit testing, test automation, and scripting.

Hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, and scripting languages.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies, testing tools, and defect tracking systems.

Knowledge of LTC insurance products, premium calculations, or financial systems is a plus.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

ISTQB Certification or similar QA-related certification.

Agile or Six Sigma certifications will be an advantage.
