Position Overview 

MobexHealth is seeking an experienced QA Engineer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience testing web and mobile applications. This individual will lead the QA function for our small engineering team and play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and compliance of our healthcare platforms.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in automated testing frameworks, understands mobile-first architecture, gets into the headspace of a user, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare startup environment. Experience in regulated industries (healthcare) is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate would reside in India and work with our development and product teams.

Key Responsibilities 

Quality Strategy & Test Planning 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for web and mobile applications 
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites 
  • Ensure coverage across functionality, performance, usability, and security 
  • Participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement to define acceptance criteria 

Automated Testing 

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for: 
  • Web applications (React, Angular, or similar) 
  • Mobile applications (iOS/Android, cross-platform frameworks) 
  • APIs and backend services 
  • Implement CI/CD-integrated automated testing pipelines 
  • Maintain high test coverage and minimize manual regression dependency 

Manual & Exploratory Testing 

  • Perform structured manual testing as well as exploratory testing across devices and browsers 
  • Validate usability for diverse populations, including low digital literacy users 
  • Test offline workflows and cellular-enabled tablet environments 
  • Validate device-based deployments (locked-down tablets, kiosk modes) 

Healthcare & Compliance Validation 

  • Validate HIPAA-compliant workflows and secure data handling 
  • Ensure authentication, role-based access, and member verification processes function properly 
  • Test integrations with third-party systems (EHRs, APIs, Medicaid eligibility systems) 

Defect Management & Collaboration 

  • Identify, document, and prioritize defects with clear reproduction steps 
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to resolve issues 
  • Support root cause analysis and preventative QA improvements 
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement 

Required Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of QA experience testing web and mobile applications 
  • Strong experience with automated testing tools such as: 
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar (web) 
  • Appium, Detox, or similar (mobile) 
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman or automated frameworks 
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines 
  • Strong understanding of: 
  • SDLC and Agile methodologies 
  • Version control systems (Git) 
  • Test case management tools 
  • Experience testing responsive and mobile-first applications 
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in healthcare, Medicaid, LTSS, or regulated environments 
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare security requirements 
  • Experience testing tablet/kiosk deployments or device-managed environments 
  • Experience with performance testing tools 
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) 
  • Exposure to automated accessibility testing (WCAG compliance) 
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth technology company
