Job Overview
BigStep Technologies is looking for a skilled and motivated QA Automation Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to join our fast-paced, high-impact software engineering team. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our Activate Multi-Family desktop and mobile applications through robust testing strategies, both manual and automated.
This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills in mobile testing, API validation, and automation scripting, while contributing directly to the quality of real-world web and mobile applications used across the industry.
Key Responsibilities

Design and execute functional, regression, and integration tests across web and mobile platforms (iOS & Android).

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and fellow QA professionals to define comprehensive test strategies.

Develop and maintain automated test scripts for mobile apps and RESTful APIs.

Identify and track defects using tools like JIRA, and ensure they are resolved before release.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating and maintaining automated test suites.

Validate mobile builds via Android Studio and Xcode using simulators and real devices.

Monitor and report on test progress, release readiness, and quality metrics.

Support cross-functional debugging and help reproduce complex issues across platforms.

Continuously optimize and scale existing test automation infrastructure.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — OR 2+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance.

At least 2 years of QA experience, including 1+ years focused on mobile application testing (manual or automated).

Proficiency in building and testing apps using Android Studio and Xcode.

Solid experience with REST API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.

Familiarity with test case management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Cypress or similar front-end automation frameworks.

Exposure to Apple/Google Wallet and Apple/Google Pay integrations.

Hands-on knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, Unix/Linux, and NoSQL databases.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and mobile automation tools like Appium or Detox.
