Job Overview

Kestra is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our remote team based in India. This role is perfect for someone with a technical background who is passionate about improving software quality through hands-on product use, exploratory testing, and clear communication with cross-functional teams.

As a QA Engineer at Kestra, you'll be deeply involved in using our platform daily, identifying issues, reporting bugs, and helping ensure that our workflows and user experience remain top-notch. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to contribute directly to the improvement of our developer-first orchestration platform.


Key Responsibilities

  • Actively use and explore the Kestra platform on a daily basis.
  • Identify and report bugs, usability issues, and unexpected behaviors.
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback via GitHub and internal communication tools.
  • Write clear reproduction steps for issues and support diagnosing root causes.
  • Test new features proactively to ensure they meet functional and UX standards.
  • Advocate for the end user by identifying gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Work independently and manage testing workflows across fast-paced releases.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Background in backend software engineering or DevOps.
  • Strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages like Python or Node.js.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to testing a broad tech stack.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS platforms or developer tools.
  • Curiosity about systems and how they function under the hood.
  • Clear written communication skills, especially for documenting issues.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic, remote-first environment.

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Points):

  • Previous experience in QA, testing developer tools, or workflow automation.
  • Experience with open-source platforms or contributing to open-source projects.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Terraform, or similar developer infrastructure.

Hiring Process

  2. Technical Test (2-hour take-home assignment)
  3. Team Interview with 2 future teammates (30 mins)
